Weird things happen when you post projects online
In the past year, I've posted a couple of projects online. Small SaaS projects that solve problems for people. Nothing crazy, but enough to earn some extra cash for candy.
What boggles my mind is how differently each project performs, and how that doesn't align at all with the initial traction of each of them individually.
Let me explain.
I posted about Stocker here on LinkedIn, and it got a lot of impressions (18k) and a lot of sign-ups. It was free in the beginning, so there was basically no downside for users. Low friction. Easy.
Because of the positivity towards it, I decided to make it paid and grandfather all the initial people who signed up for free.
Here comes the mind-boggling part:
After this, I posted once about my other startup, Catch Up – Outlook. It didn't get much traction. Around 1k impressions. That was it.
And now it's ultra mega outperforming Stocker.
I would have thought that LinkedIn was THE place for posting stuff about Outlook. But I guess not.
Anyway, if you have the answers, DM me or drop a comment. I genuinely don't know why this happens, and I find it fascinating.
